So Finally, Here’s How to Fix Heat-Damaged Curly Hair Fast Without Cutting It

Now that we’ve established how to identify heat damaged hair, let’s move on and talk about the best ways to treat this problem!

The good news is that you don’t need to chop off all your locks just because they are damaged. With a bit of TLC (tender loving care), your hair can be back to its healthy state in no time!

Here are our top five tips on how to restore heat-damaged locks without having to cut them:

Tip #01: Use a Heat Protector Spray

One of the most important things you can do to prevent heat damage is using a good hair protectant spray before any styling.

Our personal favorite? You guessed it, Coconut Oil!

Now that’s not just because we’re biased towards this oil anyway (we’ve raved about its many benefits in our earlier posts), there are science-backed reasons for why coconut oil works so well. The lauric acid found in coconuts helps strengthen your strands and protects against protein loss while you style! How cool is that?!

But if you don’t have coconut oil available at home, opt for another nourishing hair protector instead–or even better yet try both like us!

There are other great oils out there too such as olive or jojoba oil, that will be your perfect way on how to revive curly hair naturally.

You can also of course opt for a heat protectant spray that contains nourishing ingredients such as argan or rosemary oils (we like the Keratin Pro by Design Essentials).

These are probably best options you have available on how to repair heat-damaged curly hair fast without cutting it.

Tip #02: Use Natural Styling Tools and Products When possible, always try to go natural on your hair styling tools!

Especially if you’re going to be using any high temperature devices on your locks too, we’d recommend choosing more earth-friendly options over chemical ones–such as opting for a wooden comb instead of plastic one.

You may not want to hear this but even some shampoo brands contain harmful chemicals which will only make matters worse when they seep into your scalp via the roots. So choose sulfate free products where possible, and avoid any products that contain parabens.

A few of our favorite natural hair styling tools include the Wet Brush (which is great for detangling), a Tangle Teezer, or even just using your fingers!

Tip #03: Deep Condition Regularly

Another great way to help keep your curl locks healthy and hydrated is by deep conditioning them regularly.

There are many different types of deep conditioners on the market these days, so it can be hard to know which one to go for. But don’t worry, what are we here in buyzo if not to help you find the right conditioners for your perfect curls? we’re here to help!

One of our personal favorites? The Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask. It’s made with rosehip oil and argan oil, both of which are great for repairing heat damage. Plus it only takes five to ten minutes to apply and you can use it once or twice a week!

If you’re looking for a more affordable option, then we also like the SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen, Grow & Restore Treatment Masque. It’s made with natural ingredients such as black castor oil and honey, which help to nourish and repair your hair.

Tip #04: Use Leave-In Conditioners

Another way to keep your locks healthy is by using leave-in conditioners on a regular basis.

A good leave-in conditioner will helps add moisture back into your hair, while also providing a layer of protection against future damage.

We love the Aussie Moist Conditioner because it’s affordable, lightweight and helps to detangle your hair while you’re styling it! It also has a lovely light floral scent which we just can’t get enough of. Another great option is the Kérastase Nutritive Oleo-Curl Serum which is made with nourishing oils like argan and olive oil.

Tip #05: Trim Your Hair Regularly

Last but not least, one way to keep your locks healthy is by trimming them regularly–even if they don’t appear damaged.

By getting rid of any split ends or dead ends, you’re actually preventing further damage from occurring over time. So may save yourself from having to search on how to fix heat-damaged curly hair fast without cutting it next time.

So whether it’s a trim or a cut you’re after, make sure to get your hair done by a professional hairdresser who can advise you on the best way forward for your locks.

If you don’t feel comfortable going to a salon and getting your hair trimmed there (or just can’t afford it), then we’d recommend investing in some good quality at home styling tools instead such as the Sultra The Bombshell Rod Curling Iron or even an Oui Fresh Hair Straightener which uses infrared heat technology so won’t fry your strands like most traditional irons do.
